According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred just before 5 a.m. in the northbound lanes at Exposition Boulevard.

Moments earlier, someone had reported a pedestrian running across the freeway.

The driver of the Dodge Ram remained at the scene following the collision.

CHP shut down all northbound lanes immediately after the crash, though they reopened at least two lanes shortly thereafter.

By approximately 7:30 a.m., authorities had fully reopened the freeway to traffic.
