El Centro, CA (March 11, 2026) – A male pedestrian died Tuesday night after a vehicle struck him in a crash on East Main Street Near Fairfield Drive.

According to the El Centro Police Department, the crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. in the area of East Main Street and Fairfield Drive, near Booker T. Washington Elementary School. 

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man in the roadway. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said the driver stayed at the location and is cooperating with the investigation. 

Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, but they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
