Man Dead After Crash on Pacific Highway in San Diego’s Morena Neighborhood

San Diego, CA (Dec. 4, 2025) — A pedestrian died in a crash on Pacific Highway.

A 35-year-old man lost his life early Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking in the northbound lane of Pacific Highway in San Diego’s Morena neighborhood, police said.

The incident occurred just before 4:00 a.m. in the 4800 block of Pacific Highway. 

According to a news release from the San Diego Police Department, a 30-year-old woman driving a 2024 Honda Civic was traveling north in the same lane as the pedestrian when the collision happened.

Authorities report that the driver attempted to avoid the man by swerving to the right. 

Despite her effort, the vehicle struck the pedestrian and also collided with a parked car along the east curb of the roadway.

The injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Police confirmed that impairment was not a factor in the crash. 

The SDPD Traffic Division is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
