CHP Investigates Fatal Crash on Santa Ana Freeway in Anaheim

Anaheim, CA (March 31, 2025) – A pedestrian died in a crash on Santa Ana Freeway.

Two vehicles struck and killed a pedestrian early Monday on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Anaheim.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a report of the crash at 2:03 a.m. just north of Lincoln Avenue.

A witness informed CHP that a white truck hit the pedestrian in the middle lanes. 

Investigators later determined that a black Honda Civic also struck the pedestrian.

At 2:18 a.m., CHP issued a SigAlert, shutting down the southbound Santa Ana Freeway and the Euclid Street on-ramp. 

Authorities reopened the far-right lane at 3:11 a.m. and diverted other traffic off at Euclid Street.

Officials have not yet released a description of the pedestrian.
