Police Investigate Fatal Crash on West Highway 36 in Temple

Temple, TX (October 14, 2025) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in a crash on West Highway 36 in Temple, according to the Temple Police Department.

Officers responded to the 10,700 block of West Hwy 36 at 5:52 a.m., where they found the victim already deceased. A black SUV had struck the pedestrian, and the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The individual’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

During the investigation, both directions of traffic were shut down and rerouted through the CEFCO parking lot to allow authorities to process the scene.
