Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Winner Road in Kansas City

Kansas City, MO (April 10, 2026) – A pedestrian died after a crash on Winner Road after an SUV struck them just after midnight Friday, according to police.

Officers said the crash was reported shortly after 12:45 a.m. on Winner Road near Booth Avenue. 

Investigators said a westbound Chevrolet Trax hit a pedestrian who was crossing Winner Road. 

Police reported that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and was struck in a westbound lane.

According to authorities, the SUV driver initially left the scene but later returned and contacted police. 

Emergency crews took the pedestrian to a hospital, where the victim later died from the injuries. 

Police have not yet released the victim’s name.

The crash remains under investigation.
