Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Chapman Avenue in Orange County

Orange County, CA (August 27, 2025) – A pedestrian died in a crash on Chapman Avenue.

An Orange County Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle struck and killed a person Wednesday night, the Orange Police Department reported.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Prospect Street. 

Footage from the scene showed damage to the deputy’s front windshield on the passenger side.

Deputies parked the patrol vehicle in the second lane from the right and closed the roadway while investigators examined the crash site.
