TUCSON, AZ (February 18, 2026) — A woman lost her life Monday evening after a two-vehicle crash at Ajo Way and Mission Road, according to Tucson police.

The fatal incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of West Ajo Way and South Mission Road.

Authorities reported that the woman was standing at the southwest corner of the intersection when two vehicles collided.

One of the vehicles then struck her.

Investigators say a 55-year-old woman driving a green Jeep Renegade attempted to turn left from northbound Mission Road onto westbound Ajo Way when a southbound black Dodge Charger, driven by a 30-year-old man, struck her vehicle.

After the initial collision, the Charger continued through the intersection and hit the pedestrian.

The impact threw the woman into nearby cacti close to a bus stop.

Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Police stated that the driver of the Dodge Charger was speeding at the time of the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
