Redding, CA (December 4, 2023) – People were injured following a vehicle collision on Highway 299 Sunday morning.

The traffic accident happened at about 8:20 a.m. near Sugar Pine Camp Road.

Investigators said the driver was traveling too fast on the wet roadway and was unable to safely maneuver a curve. As a result, the vehicle went off the roadway approximately 280 feet down an embankment and into a creek.

The driver and occupants incurred minor injuries.

Officers said the occupants were wearing seatbelts during the accident.
