Driver Phyllis Wauneka Killed in Vehicle Crash on Indian School Road [Phoenix, AZ]

Fatality Reported in Phoenix 2-Vehicle Crash

Phoenix, AZ (August 4, 2025) Phyllis Wauneka, 44, and Antonio Wauneka, 37, were killed in a vehicle crash on Indian School Road early Sunday morning.

It was around 6 a.m. when the fatal crash happened near 57th Avenue.

According to the authorities, Phyllis was attempting to cross Indian School Road when a speeding driver, struck her car. 

Sadly, Phyllis Wauneka was killed at the scene, while a man and another woman were transported to the hospital. However, the man, Antonio Wauneka, died at the hospital.

The driver involved in the collision remained at the scene. 

Officers said impairment is not believed to be a factor in this collision.

Bystanders said groceries were scattered in the road around a damaged Jeep and a SUV’s front and rear bumpers torn off.
