Two Juveniles Killed in Christmas Day Lebec Crash; Driver Arrested

Lebec, CA (December 27, 2025) — Two children died in a Christmas Day crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway that led to the arrest of Jorge Preciado.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred just before 3 p.m. when the driver of a blue Nissan Rogue lost control and struck the rear of a gold Toyota RAV4 in the center median. Three juveniles in the Nissan were ejected during the collision. Despite emergency efforts, two of the children died at the scene.

Authorities arrested Preciado, the driver of the Nissan, on suspicion of felony child endangerment and booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Santa Clarita station. CHP investigators continue to examine the crash.
