SAN DIEGO, CA (September 17, 2026) – Tuesday afternoon, a police chase crash on Pacific Beach Boardwalk seriously injured a woman.

The incident happened just after noon when a stolen Tesla sped onto the Pacific Beach boardwalk.

A woman was injured after a stolen Tesla was driven at high speed onto the Pacific Beach boardwalk during a police chase, according to authorities.

The Tesla was reported stolen shortly after noon, and officers attempted to stop the driver. The driver fled toward the boardwalk and drove onto the pedestrian area, where video showed people jumping out of the way.

The vehicle struck a woman who was standing outside a boardwalk restaurant. The driver eventually stopped and fled on foot, but several good Samaritans chased him down and detained him until police arrived.
