Jose Luna Arrested for Multiple Charges After Crash on N Veterans Blvd in San Juan
San Juan, TX (April 24, 2025) – Authorities have arrested the suspect involved in an assault and police pursuit that ultimately led to a four-vehicle crash on N Veterans Blvd involving law enforcement.
Police identified the suspect as 58-year-old Jose Luna, who now faces accusations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and endangering a child.
According to San Juan Police Chief Leandro Sifuentes, Luna forcibly took the woman’s vehicle, prompting a police pursuit.
Investigators later reclassified the incident as a robbery due to the use of force.
The pursuit concluded near the intersection of N. Veterans Blvd. and E. Sioux Rd., where a San Juan police unit became involved in a crash with three other vehicles.
Emergency responders transported several individuals, including the officer involved in the crash, to a local hospital for treatment.
Chief Sifuentes confirmed that none of the injuries sustained in the crash appeared to be life-threatening.
Authorities plan to arraign Luna at 4 p.m. on Friday. He is expected to face multiple charges, including:
- Robbery
- Child endangerment
- Evading arrest with a motor vehicle
- Resisting arrest
- Assault on a peace officer
