SAN ANTONIO, TX (June 14, 2026)— A San Antonio police officer suffered major injuries early Sunday morning after a crash on South WW White Road involving a suspected intoxicated driver, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The crash happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. at South WW White Road and East Southcross. Police said the officer was responding to another call and was traveling eastbound on East Southcross when the collision occurred.

According to SAPD, a 37-year-old woman allegedly disregarded a red light and caused the crash. Emergency responders transported the injured officer to a local hospital for treatment.

A preliminary SAPD report also stated that another person was taken to the hospital, though officials had not immediately confirmed whether that person was the suspected driver.

Police said the woman is expected to face a driving while intoxicated charge.
