Thornton, CO (June 29, 2025) – A crash on 104th Avenue injured a police officer on Sunday while the officer was responding to a medical emergency.

According to the Thornton Police Department, the officer was en route to the emergency with lights and sirens activated when another vehicle struck the patrol car at the intersection of 104th Avenue and Washington Street. 

Authorities reported that the other driver failed to yield to the emergency vehicle, causing the collision.

The officer sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.

Police closed the intersection to conduct an investigation and are urging drivers to use alternate routes in the meantime.
