2 Suspects Apprehended After Crash on North Vandeventer in St. Louis

St. Louis, Mo (April 24, 2025) – A St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer sustained serious injuries in a crash on North Vandeventer that occurred Thursday on a city street.

The department reported that the crash took place at the intersection of North Vandeventer and Belle Avenues, located in the Grand Center neighborhood. 

At the time, the officer—assigned to the Anti-Crime Task Force—was responding to assist in a felony arrest with lights and sirens activated when the collision happened.

Emergency responders transported the officer to the hospital, where medical staff believed the officer had suffered a broken femur. 

Authorities also transported the other driver involved to the hospital, though their injuries were not considered serious.

Meanwhile, officers successfully apprehended the two individuals the injured officer had been en route to assist with. 

Police confirmed that the suspects—one juvenile and one adult—were in possession of a stolen vehicle at the time of their arrest.
