Two Dead, Two Seriously Injured in Weatherford Crash on FM 51

Parker County, TX (August 7, 2025) — 19-year-old Preston Mathis Duffy and 24-year-old Timothy Lee Herrera died in a shocking single car crash on FM 51 early Monday morning.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 6:10 a.m. at the intersection with Veal Station Road in Weatherford.

Reports say that the crash claimed the lives of two men and left two others with serious injuries.

Reports say that Herrera was driving a passenger car northbound on FM 51 when he lost control due to wet road conditions from recent heavy rain. His vehicle hydroplaned into the southbound lane and collided with an SUV.

Both Herrera and Duffy, a passenger in Herrera’s vehicle, died at the scene. Emergency crews transported a second passenger, a 22-year-old man, to a hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries. The 35-year-old woman who was driving the SUV was also seriously hurt and had to be rescued from her vehicle before being taken to the hospital.

Authorities shut down the roadway as DPS conducted their investigation, which remains ongoing.
