Deputy Hurt, Several Others Injured After Police Pursuit Ends in Victorville Crash

Victorville, CA (June 27, 2025) — A San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy suffered injuries, and several people were hospitalized after a police pursuit ended in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 in Victorville on Thursday.

The incident began around 12:42 p.m. when deputies attempted to stop a white Dodge Magnum near Interstate 15 and D Street after identifying it as a vehicle linked to a report involving an armed man from the previous day. Authorities said the driver, identified as 35-year-old Vincent Clemons, allegedly drove toward deputies before speeding away, triggering a pursuit.

Investigators said Clemons ran a stop sign at the intersection of B Street and Hesperia Road, where his vehicle collided with a northbound Subaru and a southbound Toyota RAV4. The impact caused the Subaru to crash into a cement wall, overturn, and strike a parked Honda Pilot.

After the collision, Clemons fled on foot and forced his way into an occupied motel room nearby. Deputies located and arrested him without further incident. During the investigation, authorities recovered a firearm from his vehicle.

Clemons, the occupants of the involved vehicles, and the injured deputy were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officials said the deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

Authorities booked Clemons into the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of resisting or delaying a peace officer resulting in injury, being a felon in possession of a firearm, burglary, and reckless evading. The crash investigation temporarily closed portions of Hesperia Road, C Street, A Street, and B Street.
