Odessa, TX (September 21, 2026) — Purvine Jerry Brett, 57, of Odessa, died after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at about 8:10 p.m. Saturday on 42nd Street in Ector County, Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Brett was riding a 2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout westbound behind a 2016 Ford F-150. The pickup driver, 26-year-old Arteaga Bryan Alonso, failed to control the vehicle’s speed, causing Brett’s motorcycle to strike the truck’s rear left side.

Brett suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
