Tucson, AZ (May 13, 2026) – 76-year-old Randolph Daniel Chavez was fatally injured following a University Boulevard accident early Saturday.

The deadly vehicle crash happened on May 9 at the intersection with Euclid Avenue.

Police said the Honda was northbound on Euclid Avenue, while a bicycle ridden by Chavez was westbound on University Boulevard.

Officers said Chavez was hit by the Honda at the intersection.

Immediately, rescuers rushed the bicyclist to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Troopers said Chavez was wearing a helmet during the collision.
