Randy Rubio and 2 Others Dead in CR 77 Collision

Corpus Christi Father and 4-Year-Old Child Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash at County Roads 36

Robstown, TX (January 27, 2026) – Randy Rubio, 35, of Corpus Christi, his 4-year-old daughter, Eden, and 12-year-old stepson, Connor Zapata, were killed in a CR 77 collision Thursday night.

The deadly vehicle crash happened past 9 p.m. at the intersection with County Road 36.

Troopers said a 2019 Ford Ranger driven by 24-year-old Joshua Galvan of Pharr was westbound on County Road 36 when he failed to stop at stop sign and struck a 2005 Buick Rendezvous traveling south on CR 77.

The Buick’s driver, Randy Rubio, 35, was with his children, ages 12, 5 and 4.

Officers said Galvan’s vehicle struck Rubio’s on the driver’s side, and both vehicles were sent off the highway.

Unfortunately, Rubio died at the scene.

Rescuers rushed all the three children in Rubio’s vehicle to hospitals. Two of them were taken to Driscoll Children’s Hospital, while the third was rushed to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital but was transferred to Driscoll.

Police said Eden was declared dead early Friday morning, while Connor succumbed to his injuries Sunday morning.

Moreover, Galvan sustained critical injuries and was airlifted by HALO Flight to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital.

The authorities are conducting a further investigation.
