Rear-End Collision on US 61 Injures People [Clark County, MO]

Clark County, MO (May 12, 2025) — On Saturday afternoon, 2 adults and a child suffered injuries following a rear-end collision on US 61 in Clark County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. on the U.S. Highway 61 overpass about two miles south of Wayland.

Investigators said a 60-year-old woman from Bushnell had stopped her SUV at a stop sign when a pickup truck driven by a 30-year-old man from Burlington struck the vehicle from behind.

The pickup driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment.

The SUV driver suffered moderate injuries, while a 7-year-old boy riding in the vehicle sustained minor injuries. Emergency crews transported both patients to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison.

Authorities reported that everyone involved was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
