Two Women Injured in Semi-Truck and Minivan Crash on Highway 99 Near Los Molinos
Tehama County, CA (November 14, 2025) — 2 women were injured Wednesday afternoon after a rear-end crash on Highway 99 north of Los Molinos.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the frightening collision happened when a minivan was heading northbound and slowed to turn left onto 3rd Avenue when a log-hauling semi-truck failed to stop in time, crashing into the back of the vehicle.
Reports say that the impact caused major damage to the rear of the minivan, while the semi-truck sustained only minor damage.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and airlifted the passenger to a local hospital with major injuries. The driver of the minivan suffered moderate injuries, while the truck driver was not hurt.
Both directions of Highway 99 were temporarily closed as responders cleared the wreckage and reopened the road later in the afternoon. CHP continues to investigate the crash.
Focus on the Road
Millions of people take to the roads for work, school, errands, or leisure. While many of these trips are uneventful, accidents can happen in the blink of an eye. Traffic accidents can change lives in an instant, causing physical injuries, emotional trauma, and financial hardship.
Wearing your seatbelt is the simplest and most effective way to protect yourself in an accident. It can reduce the risk of serious injury or death by up to 50%.
Similarly, texting, talking on the phone, eating, or doing anything else that takes your eyes off the road for even a second can have disastrous consequences. Keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
Always drive cautiously and be aware of road conditions to prevent accidents. Quick and safe responses can save lives in emergencies.
Rear-end collisions are often preventable. Always maintain a safe following distance and stay alert, especially when large vehicles are carrying heavy loads.
Life After a Traffic Accident
A traffic collision doesn’t just end when the vehicles are cleared—it often leaves lasting scars. Injuries can range from minor cuts to severe, life-changing trauma. Beyond the physical pain, many victims also face emotional stress, mental challenges, and financial strain, making recovery even harder.
