Police Investigate Crash on South Marcus Street in Alto

ALTO, TX (April 23, 2026)— Two people were injured Thursday after a crash on South Marcus Street involving a pickup truck into a home.

The crash happened in the 300 block of South Marcus Street, according to the Alto Police Department.

Sgt. Mike Creel said the pickup driver was traveling southbound when he reported that his vehicle began shaking. The driver then lost control and crashed into the home.

A person sitting outside the home was struck during the crash. Creel said that the person appeared to have suffered broken bones.

Emergency responders transported both the driver and the injured resident to the hospital for treatment.

A power company crew was also called to the scene to clean up downed power lines before crews could safely remove the pickup truck from the house.

Authorities have not released additional details about the cause of the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.
