MADERA, CA (August 12, 2025) – On Friday, authorities arrested Ricardo Mejia Martinez after an alarming DUI crash on Gateway Drive.

The incident happened on Gateway Drive.

According to reports, a vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree. Then, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot after the crash, leaving a young child inside the wreckage.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the child was not seriously injured in the incident.

Furthermore, authorities managed to locate the suspect driver, identified as 37-year-old Martinez. Officers arrested Martinez for DUI, hit-and-run, and child endangerment.
