Victorville, CA (June 8, 2025) — A 67-year-old Victorville resident, Richard Vanduyne, lost his life following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northstar Avenue and Amethyst Road on the evening of June 5, 2026.

The crash happened around 5:08 p.m. and involved a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and an Infiniti Q50 sedan. The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn, leaving it resting on its roof along Amethyst Road.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene after witnesses attempted life-saving measures on Vanduyne. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators reported that the Chevrolet was traveling northbound on Amethyst Road when it crossed into opposing lanes, failed to stop at the intersection, and collided with the Infiniti, which was already stopped at the four-way stop.

The Infiniti driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
