Cajon Pass (May 11, 2025) – A crash on southbound 15 Freeway involving a motorcycle and a silver sedan left a motorcyclist with serious injuries on Sunday afternoon.

The collision occurred around 4:15 p.m. on May 11, 2025, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident logs. 

Preliminary reports indicate that the motorcycle and sedan collided in the No. 1 lane, ejecting the rider from the bike.

Emergency crews from the San Bernardino County Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene to treat the injured rider. 

Due to the severity of the injuries, authorities requested a Mercy Air medical helicopter, which landed directly on the freeway. 

This response led to a full, temporary closure of all southbound lanes.

The motorcyclist, who remained conscious throughout the emergency response, was airlifted to a nearby trauma center for further medical care. 

Fortunately, no other serious injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

CHP officers are currently investigating the cause of the crash. The collision and emergency response caused significant delays for motorists traveling through the Cajon Pass. 

Authorities urged drivers in the area to proceed with caution while crews worked to clear the scene and restore traffic flow.
