Harley-Davidson Rider Injured in Collision on Silverado Trail [St. Helena, CA]

St. Helena, CA (November 18, 2023) – A Harley-Davidson rider sustained injuries following a collision on Silverado Trail Sunday afternoon.

The collision happened at about 12:10 p.m. at the intersection with Zinfandel Lane. Officers said the 2001 Harley-Davidson was southbound on Silverado Trail while a 2002 Ford Excursion SUV was eastbound on Zinfandel Lane.

According to the investigators, the Ford driven by a 40-year-old Fairfield woman stopped at the intersection and turned left onto Silverado Trail directly into the path of the motorcycle. 

The 72-year-old Martinez man driving the motorcycle swerved right to avoid a collision. However, the front of his bike struck the Ford’s rear bumper. The Harley-Davidson crashed onto the pavement and rested in a dirt field.

Immediately, the rescuers rushed the motorcyclist to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center via ambulance. The motorcyclist sustained major injuries.

Meanwhile, no injuries to the Ford’s driver have been reported. Officers said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this collision.
