Rider Jonathon Porras Dead in Downey Avenue Collision [Long Beach, CA]

Long Beach, CA (July 5, 2025) – 20-year-old Jonathon Porras was killed in a Downey Avenue collision Thursday night.

The fatal collision happened around 9:20 p.m. near the intersection with South Street.

Police located Parras in the southbound lanes of Downey Avenue and his female passenger lying on the west sidewalk near him.

Responding officers declared Jonathon Porras deceased at the scene while his passenger was rushed to a hospital in unknown condition.

According to the investigators, Parras and his passenger had been traveling on a 2008 Honda CBR motorcycle westbound on South Street. The motorcycle approached Downey Avenue, where they were hit by a 2012 Toyota 4Runner. Officers said the Toyota was turning left to go north on Downey Avenue.

Troopers consider speed and distracted driving as potential factors in this traffic accident.
