Adrian Calderon Killed in Merced Rear-End Accident on Yosemite Avenue & Lake Road

 
MERCED, CA (May 24, 2021) – Sunday night, 40-year-old Adrian Calderon died in a three-vehicle crash on Yosemite Avenue and Lake Road in Merced, California.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident involved three vehicles. Moreover, it happened at around 8:00 p.m. on Yosemite Avenue and Lake Road near UC Merced.
 
Furthermore, authorities confirmed that a Ceres man died in the crash. Also, officials said that the victim failed to wear a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
 
Later reports reveal that the decedent rode in a 2001 Honda that crashed into the rear of Rita Ceja’s 2014 Honda Accord.
 
As a result, the Merced woman’s vehicle collided into the 2018 Dodge Durango stopped in front of her.
 
Moreover, the vehicle was driven by Melanie Graham of Carl Junction. It is unknown if she sustained injuries in the Fresno accident.
 
When paramedics arrived, they extricated and transported the Ceres man, Calderon, to Mercy Medical Center.
 
Even so, he was later pronounced dead.
 
On the other hand, Ms. Ceja and her two passengers, a 40-year-old man, and an 11-year-old female, were taken to Mercy Medical Center for incurring minor injuries.
 
Also, the events leading to the crash is under investigation. Alcohol and drugs are ruled out as factors.
