Riverside Police Officer Injured in Crash on 91 Freeway [Riverside, CA]

 

Caltrans Truck and Police Car Crash Near Van Buren Boulevard

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (August 31, 2019) – A Riverside police officer sustained injuries in a crash on 91 Freeway on Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just east of Van Buren Boulevard at approximately 4:00 PM. Based on an initial report, the officer’s car collided with a Caltrans truck while police was clearing the scene after an initial incident.
 
According to the paramedics, the officer suffered serious injuries and was in the hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. The Caltrans worker was not hurt.
 
The crash is under investigation.
