Deputies Investigate Car VS Patrol Vehicle Crash on El Capitan Way in Merced County
Merced County, CA (October 21, 2022) – On Thursday, police arrested Robert Hernandez after his vehicle crashed into a police car after a pursuit on El Capitan Way.
Reportedly, Hernandez and his passenger appeared to be passed out when one of the deputies opened the driver’s door and tried to speak with the driver.
However, Hernandez started the vehicle and began to drive off while he was still in the vehicle and refused to stop.
Hernandez then crashed his vehicle into the patrol vehicle and was taken into custody.
The deputies then found that Hernandez had a loaded handgun in his waistband and Methamphetamine, marijuana, and cash.
Meanwhile, medics transported the deputy to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The female passenger was released at the scene.
Further investigation is underway.
