Robert Watson Arrested in Fatal Crash on Interstate 635 [Dallas, TX]

Dallas, TX (May 28, 2025) — A man lost his life early Wednesday after a crash involving Robert Watson, a disabled vehicle, and a tow truck along Interstate 635 near the Dallas North Tollway.

According to Dallas police, officers responded shortly after midnight to the eastbound lanes of I-635 near the southbound Dallas North Tollway. Investigators said a disabled vehicle was being loaded onto a flatbed tow truck when a passing vehicle crashed into the scene.

Police identified the driver as 53-year-old Watson. Authorities said Watson struck the disabled vehicle, partially drove onto the tow truck’s flatbed, and hit the victim standing nearby before his vehicle overturned.

The victim suffered critical injuries and later died at a hospital. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity.

According to investigators, Watson showed signs of impairment at the scene and was taken into custody after receiving medical treatment. He now faces an intoxication manslaughter charge. Court records also indicate he has prior DWI-related charges.

The investigation remains ongoing.
