33-Year-Old Roberto Rodriguez Killed in Big Rig Crash on Monroe Street [Indio, CA]

Indio, CA (December 13, 2025) — On Thursday, 33-year-old Roberto Rodriguez of Indio died after suffering critical injuries in a late-night motorcycle crash involving a big rig in Indio.

According to authorities, the collision happened around 11:15 p.m. on Monroe Street near Interstate 10.

Police arrived to find the motorcyclist, later identified as Rodriguez, lying in the roadway with severe injuries. Paramedics transported him to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he passed away early Friday morning.

The big rig driver was not hurt and remained at the scene to assist investigators. Authorities temporarily closed Monroe Street between Oleander Avenue and Interstate 10 while crews worked to clear the area. The road reopened shortly before 3 a.m.
