Jackson Man Deceased in Cape Girardeau Motorcycle Crash

Cape Girardeau, MO (February 22, 2026) – 46-year-old Robin Lankford of Jackson sustained fatal injuries following a N Kingshighway collision Wednesday afternoon.

It was around 4:32 p.m. when the deadly crash happened at the 300 block area.

Officers said a 2003 Yamaha FZS10 motorcycle driven by Lankford was northbound on Kingshighway when a 2014 Buick Encore pulled out of a private driveway.

The Buick was attempting to turn east across Kingshighway when it was hit by the motorcycle.

Lankford was thrown from his motorcycle and sustained injuries.

Immediately, rescuers responded to the collision and rushed Lankford to Saint Francis Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Officers said Lankford was wearing a helmet but it came off during the collision.

The SUV driver , on the other hand, was not hurt.

This deadly traffic crash is under investigation.
