Police Arrest Rodolfo Abrego in Highway 83 Traffic Crash

3-Year-Old Child Airlifted in Laredo Texas Vehicle Crash

Laredo, TX (April 26, 2026) – A 3-year-old child was injured while a pickup truck driver, Rodolfo Abrego, was arrested in Highway 83 traffic crash Thursday afternoon.

It was past 2 p.m. when the collision happened near the 500 block area.

Police said a pickup truck driven by Abrego failed to stop when it and collided with a northbound vehicle.

All the passengers in both vehicles were transported to Laredo Medical Center, while a 3-year-old child, who sustained critical injuries, was airlifted to San Antonio.

Police charged Abrego with three counts of intoxication assault after he was released from the hospital.
