Rodolfo Castillo Najera Arrested Interstate 70 Pursuit Crash [Aurora, CO]

Aurora, CO (August 18, 2025) — Authorities arrested 34-year-old Rodolfo Castillo Najera after a horrific traffic crash on Interstate 70 that led to a passenger getting hurt.

According to authorities, that a police pursuit in Aurora ended with multiple crashes and an arrest Friday morning, after Najera fled in a stolen vehicle and then stole a second car.

Officers spotted a Ford Expedition, reported stolen out of Westminster, near Potomac Street and Hoffman Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. When police attempted to stop the SUV, Najera fled east on I-70, then turned back west. Officers deployed stop sticks, but the suspect swerved onto the shoulder, hit an object, and rolled the vehicle near I-70 and E-470.

Authorities say that a woman inside the SUV was injured and taken to the hospital.

Then Najera ran from the scene, attempted one failed carjacking, and then successfully stole another vehicle. Officers later spotted him on Tower Road, where the chase ended in a four-vehicle crash at 40th Street after another driver collided with the stolen car.

Police arrested Najera, who has a lengthy criminal history. He now faces multiple charges, including motor vehicle theft and felony eluding.
