WSP Arrests Car Driver in Spokane Deadly Traffic Crash

Spokane, WA (February 27, 2026) – 48-year-old Rogelio Santiago Sanchez from Spokane Valley was killed in a SR 27 collision early Saturday morning.

It was around 1:23 a.m. on February 21 when the deadly crash happened on E Desmet Avenue.

Troopers said the victim was hit by a car driving north, and added that it continued northbound even after the impact.

Sadly, Sanchez succumbed to his crash injuries at the scene.

The 35-year-old car driver was not hurt in the collision and was charged with vehicular homicide.
