Rollover Collision on SR 18 Ends With Fatalities [Federal Way, WA]

Federal Way, WA (June 6, 2025) — Two people lost their lives, and two others suffered critical injuries after a high-speed rollover collision on SR 18 early Friday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a trooper monitoring traffic near SR 18 and State Route 167 recorded a vehicle traveling at more than 130 mph shortly before 1 a.m. The trooper initiated a pursuit westbound on SR 18, and the vehicle later struck a guardrail at high speed.

The impact caused the vehicle to roll over, ejecting two occupants. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two additional occupants survived the crash and were transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. One reportedly required surgery.

The collision forced the closure of all westbound SR 18 lanes between Interstate 5 and State Route 167 for nearly 12 hours while investigators processed the scene. Authorities have not yet determined who was driving the vehicle and have not released the identities of those involved.

The investigation remains ongoing.
