Shocking Rollover Crash Near Interstate 5 Under Investigation [Ferndale, WA]

Ferndale, WA (October 02, 2025) — A serious rollover crash near Interstate 5 Wednesday morning led to multiple injuries.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened around 8:45 a.m. on the northbound I-5 on-ramp from Main Street.

Reports say that a Toyota Tundra exited northbound I-5, left the off-ramp, and struck a Nissan Versa on the adjacent on-ramp. The impact caused one vehicle to roll onto its side.

Emergency crews transported the Nissan driver, a 54-year-old woman from Everett, to PeaceHealth St. Joseph’s Medical Center with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed she was wearing her seatbelt at the time.

The Toyota was driven by a 25-year-old Bellingham man with a 25-year-old woman and three children—ages 17 months, 5 years, and 7 years—on board. All were properly restrained and escaped injury.

The ramp closure caused significant traffic delays, with Ferndale Police urging drivers to avoid the area. The on-ramp reopened around 1 p.m. Investigators confirmed alcohol and drugs were not factors, and charges are pending.
