1 Person Dead in Modoc County Auto Accident on Highway 29 near County Road 73

MODOC COUNTY, CA (May 26, 2025) – Saturday afternoon, a devastating rollover crash on Highway 29 near County Road 73 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:05 p.m. on Highway 29 near County Road 73.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound 2003 Ford F-150 truck veered into the north shoulder where it crashed and rolled over.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 35-year-old driver of the Ford, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the 40-year-old female passenger of the vehicle to a local hospital with a laceration on her leg.

Furthermore, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified. 

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
