Deadly Rollover Crash on Interstate 15 Under Investigation [Rialto, CA]

Rialto, CA (July 8, 2025) On Sunday evening, a deadly rollover crash on Interstate 15 triggered a full closure of the southbound freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol the crash happened around 6:51 p.m. in the area between Sierra Avenue and Glen Helen Parkway.

Authorities said several vehicles, including a white Tesla and a black Mazda, were involved. One SUV reportedly overturned, crossed the center divider, and came to rest in the northbound lanes.

San Bernardino County Fire, CHP, and AMR crews responded immediately, dispatching multiple engines and medical teams. Due to the severity of the collision, CHP upgraded the incident to a fatal crash. Emergency personnel shut down all lanes in both directions to manage the scene and begin an investigation.

By 7:19 p.m., CHP issued a SigAlert. Traffic backed up for several miles as shown on Caltrans cameras. Shortly after 7:59 p.m., authorities reopened the No. 4 lane, while other lanes remained closed.

CHP Inland Division continues to investigate the crash. They have not yet released the identity of the deceased or the cause of the collision.
