Shocking Rollover Crash on Southern Boulevard Injures 6 [Rio Rancho, NM]

Rio Rancho, NM (July 15, 2026) — Six people suffered injuries after a shocking crash on Southern Boulevard, where a side-by-side utility vehicle rolled over.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. near Southern Boulevard and 60th Street NW. Due to the remote location, Rio Rancho Fire Rescue requested assistance from the Rio Grande Basin Rescue Team.

Emergency crews found the vehicle overturned in a steep ravine. One occupant managed to get out without assistance, while rescuers used specialized rope rescue equipment to safely remove the remaining five occupants.

Two of the injured victims were airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The other patients were transported by ambulance with assistance from Rio Rancho Fire Rescue and Sandoval County Fire Rescue.

Officials continue to gather details as the investigation remains ongoing.
