Ron Dykes and 3 Others Dead in Vehicle Crash on US 281

Fatalities Reported in Marble Falls Devastating Multi-Vehicle Collision

Marble Falls, TX (May 19, 2026) – Ron Dykes, 55, and four other people lost their lives following a vehicle crash on US 281 Sunday afternoon.

The deadly vehicle crash happened before 5 p.m. when a black Nissan truck that was traveling north on the freeway crossed the median and traveled north in the southbound lanes.

The Nissan then sideswiped a BMW and crashed head-on with a silver Hyundai hatchback with four occupants.

Officers declared Antonio Lara, 80, the Nissan driver, and all the Hyundai occupants, Ron Dykes, 55, Roxanne Mowrey, 50, a 5-year-old girl, and a 3-year-old girl, deceased at the scene.

The accident report did not say if anyone inside the BMW sustained injuries, but noted that the vehicle sustained minor damage.

Marble Falls Police Department is conducting a further investigation into the fatal crash.
