RPD Investigates Deadly Crash on Mockingbird Canyon Road

Riverside, CA (January 3, 2026) – Ronney Vasquez, 61, of Moreno Valley, was fatally struck by a vehicle on El Sobrante Road Wednesday evening.

The deadly crash happened before 6 p.m. east of Mockingbird Canyon Road in Riverside.

Responding officers found Vasquez lying in the eastbound lanes of the road and they declared him dead at the scene.

Police said the suspect vehicle fled the scene.

Officers are conducting a further investigation into this collision.
