Driver Arrested in DUI Crash Near Sunset Drive
Eureka, CA (September 20, 2026) – 20-year-old Ronnie Franklin of McKinleyville was injured in a Highway 101 collision late Wednesday night.
It was past 11 p.m. on September 16 when the collision happened near Sunset Drive.
According to the authorities, Selah Town, 26, of Carlotta, was driving a black 2016 GMC Yukon northbound on the highway.
Police said Town crossed from the left lane into a closed right lane on an active Caltrans construction zone, where in she struck Franklin while working.
Rescuers responded and took Franklin to St. Joseph Hospital with major injuries.
Town, on the other hand, sustained minor injuries
Troopers arrested Town on suspicion of an alcohol related DUI and ask anyone who may have information to call CHP Humboldt Area office at 707-713-6300.
