Ryan DeLaughter Injured in Deadly Collision on Highway 285 [Reeves County, TX]

Reeves County, TX (August 24, 2026) — A two-vehicle crash on US 285 in Reeves County, Texas, on Saturday morning left Michael Jones dead and Ryan DeLaughter injured.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Ford F-150 driven by 30-year-old Jones was traveling southbound when it moved into the inside lane, crossed the center line, and entered northbound traffic. The pickup then struck a northbound semi-truck driven by Delaughter.

The collision forced the semi and its trailer off the roadway, where they stopped in the westbound bar ditch. The F-150 came to rest facing east in the northbound lane.

Jones died at the scene. Emergency responders transported Delaughter to Reeves County Hospital for treatment.

DPS continues to investigate the crash.
