Salvador Olivas Killed in Horrific Crash on Avenue 54 [Coachella, CA]

Coachella, CA (September 5, 2026) — 55-year-old Salvador Olivas of Thermal died Friday after a vehicle struck his motorcycle near Avenue 54 and Tyler Street in Coachella, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station responded to the crash around 5 a.m. and found Olivas in the roadway. They performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived and took him to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Medical personnel later pronounced Olivas dead at the scene.

The vehicle’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said they do not currently believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision.
