Injuries Reported in Deadly Three-Vehicle Crash on South Kolb Road in Tucson

Tucson, AZ (May 14, 2025) — 2 drivers were hurt, while 58-year-old Samuel Jackson died following a three-vehicle collision late Monday night on Tucson’s southeast side, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 11:35 p.m. on May 11 in the 4300 block of South Kolb Road. Police said Samuel D. Jackson was driving a Toyota RAV4 northbound at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a Volkswagen Golf traveling in the same lane.

Investigators said the impact caused Jackson to lose control of the SUV. The RAV4 then struck a raised median, crossed into the southbound lanes, and collided with a GMC Sierra.

Jackson, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The drivers of the Volkswagen and GMC suffered minor injuries in the collision.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash.
