SAPD Officer Injured after DWI Crash on South Presa [San Antonio, TX]

Trinidad Huerta Arrested after DWI Crash on South Presa in San Antonio

San Antonio, TX (December 1, 2023) – On Friday at 9 p.m., a crash on South Presa and Southeast Military injures an Officer.

SAPD reported that a witness observed the officer driving west with lights and sirens activated, proceeding through a green light.

The other driver, identified by SAPD as Trinidad Huerta, 60, was traveling east in a Grey Nissan truck. SAPD stated that Huerta cut off the officer while attempting to turn north, resulting in a T-bone collision. 

EMS transported the officer to the hospital for evaluation of head injuries. Witnesses noted that the officer was unresponsive and had a head injury.

SAPD received notification that the officer’s vitals were stable post-transport. Huerta was assessed for driving while intoxicated at the scene.

An investigator  mentioned, “There was enough cues to arrest him for DWI.”

A passenger in the Nissan truck was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. Investigators will determine the speed of the truck at the time of the incident.
